Court-related Services

What best describes your internal experiences as a court-involved client?

Inadequate? Shame? Guilt? Anxiety? Anger? Sadness? Longing? Powerless? Out of Control?

Or, maybe, all of them?

How can I help?

Once you are in the court system, many things are out of your hands.

The court may order you to attend Reunification Therapy or/ and co-parenting counseling.

You rely on legal professionals to advocate for you. They are trained to deal with facts, procedures, and outcomes. But how about your internal experiences as a fellow human being?

I get it.

I worked as a court-appointed mediator, Child Custody Recommending Counselor in the courthouse. My experiences as a court professional are different from what we call "the parties" or “co-parents“.

I get to know the judges, clerks, mediators, and anyone who works in the courthouse as professionals and as humans. I am familiar with the rules of court for San Francisco and Alameda County. I know the expectations from the court of me, a mental health expert.

I can lend you my professional knowledge, professional experiences, and professional connections, as well as my calmness, ease, patience, and persistence.

  • Reunification Family Therapy in San Francisco and Alameda County

Reunification therapy, also known as reunification counseling or reunification intervention, is a type of family therapy aimed at helping separated families (such as those that have undergone divorce or separation) to reintegrate and re-establish positive relationships with one another.

The focus of reunification therapy is typically on children who have been separated from one or both of their parents, often as a result of parental conflict or legal disputes. The goal of the therapy is to help these children and their parents overcome the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges associated with separation and to facilitate a successful reunification.

  • Co-parenting Counseling in San Francisco and Alameda County

Co-parenting counseling or co-parenting therapy is a type of therapy that helps separated or divorced parents develop a healthy and productive co-parenting relationship for the benefit of their children. The aim of co-parenting counseling or co-parenting therapy is to help parents put their differences aside and focus on the needs of their children. It can also help parents learn how to communicate effectively, set boundaries, and develop a parenting plan that works for both parties.

Co-parenting counseling or co-parenting therapy typically involves meeting with a licensed therapist who specializes in family therapy or child psychology. The therapist will work with both parents to identify areas of conflict and develop strategies for resolving them. They may also guide how to communicate with each other, set boundaries, and establish a co-parenting plan that works for everyone involved.
